This month, premium Australian brands, Harbour Outdoor and Special Lights officially launched their collaboration to the Architecture and Design community, showcasing their luxury collections and providing expert guidance on elevating the outdoor space.

The two showrooms situated in Waterloo, Sydney, featured catering by Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, OzHarvest and offered natural wines by local winemakers, Doom Juice. The evening was topped off with performances by guitarist, Andrew Blanch from The Bowerbird Collective – ARIA-chart topping musicians who tell stories of conservation backed by impressive lightscapes.

The collaboration comes following recent studies indicating that the heart of the Australian home has shifted to the outdoors. 77% of Australians state that they use their outdoors spaces every day, with another 92% saying that having an attractive outdoor living area is essential to the home.

As one of the most established lighting businesses in Australia, Special Lights partners with leading European suppliers recognised for their design, quality and innovation. The team tailors to the specific needs of projects through its various Lighting Design and Planning Services.

Since 1976, Harbour has been renowned for its unique designs and durability to sustain the harsh Australian climate and coastal conditions. A proudly family-owned business, the team oversees every stage of its product design and development to manufacturing and distribution. Its collections have been specified for high-profile Australian and global hospitality, commercial and residential projects such as Elizabeth Bay Marina, Prince Waikiki, The Hollywood Bowl and Hayman Island Beach House post-cyclone – where resistance to extreme weather events was imperative to the re-build.

Both showrooms are located on George St, Waterloo in central Sydney and boast complementary Harbour x Special Lights fittings to showcase their products in-showroom as a complete setting. Both Harbour and Special Lights provide services Australia-wide and offer tailored services to the Architecture and Design community.
